Having grown roses as a family for over 100 years, we are confident that any rose you buy from us will thrive in your garden.
Henry Street Nursery offer a 2 year guarantee with any roses bought from this website or through our garden centre. If you experience any issues with the establishment of roses purchased from us within the first 2 years of planting please send pictures to roses@henrystreet.co.uk or call our team on 0118 9761223 to speak to a member of our team.
Henry street reserve the right to offer a direct replacement, alternative rose, additional care advice to give the existing plant more time to grow or a full refund for any roses covered by the rose guarantee. A picture of the rose will be required for any guarantee requests alongside a picture of the colour plant label supplied with each rose.
Shipping & Returns
Delivery cost £3.49 per order. Delivery 2-3 working days.
We use DPD for all our Bush rose deliveries & DX Freight for all standard roses, upon dispatch you will receive an email confirming your rose has been shipped and providing you updates through delivery confirming estimated time of arrival.
Unfortunately due to updated plant health requirements following Brexit we are only able to ship to Mainland (including Isle of White) UK excluding Northern Ireland.
Our standard delivery is 1 - 3 days from point of order although may be extended in busy periods. We do not post roses on Fridays. As our roses are live plants we sometimes delay sending in extreme cold or heat to avoid them perishing due to extended delivery times.
Standard Roses are dispatched on Tuesdays only due the size of boxes.
Bare root roses on pre-order will be dispatched in the Autumn / Winter, any orders placed not on pre-order will be dispatched on a Tuesday.
How will my rose arrive
We have specially designed boxes to ensure any roses bought from us will travel safely to your home.
Bare root roses are dispatched between October and February each year. We do allow pre-orders of bare root roses and will send them out once the stock is ready. It may be the case that some orders are fulfilled earlier than others depending on which varieties were on order.
Our new crop of potted roses are dispatched from October and will arrive as newly potted bare root plants. These are ok to be planted out straight away or you can wait till the rose has started rooting in and plant in the spring. Sending out these potted roses ensures you receive the best product as the rose remains well in moist compost through the journey and when planting you have a pot of our special blend of compost to get your rose off to the best of start.
In spring our roses will still be very small to look at but will have rooted into the pot and will be showing strong young growth.
May - September we will do our best to send out roses in flower or in bud but this will depend on the growing season as we may have to cut back the plant to keep them healthy with fresh growth.
How to care for Roses
All our roses arrive with our helpful rose care leaflet.
Our Rose Care pages are also a great place to look for advice on planting, pruning, feeding and caring for your roses.

Excellent bare roots as always, packaged well and delivered quickly.
This is my second Compassion Rose purchased from Henry Street. I’m not very green fingered & they were so helpful with type, placement & aftercare. Delivery was spot on and the rose was super healthy. I planted it in summer & it’s been doing very well. I bought the same rose for my very good friend as they moved house & had to leave theirs behind.
Bare root came with only two stems but lets hope it grows into a beautiful rose next year!
The bare rooted rose arrived safe and well. I planted it immediately. I don’t expect any trouble from it. But will have to wait until spring to see how it likes living here.
Very good swift service. Kindly handwrote message.
Good service and competitive price for the rose I wanted. Arrived in good time and beautifully packaged. The rose is large and in excellent condition, now planted so looking forward to it filling the frame we have put it against.
Good service, good price and excellent roses
I ordered 2 Just Joey hybrid rose bushes. One is perfect and still in bloom . The other was damaged in transit.
I bought this beautiful rose for a friend's birthday. I already had one and so many people have asked me what it is. The scent is stunning and the plant is so healthy it just wants to grow. I'd recommend this one over and over again. It was packed so carefully it was perfect when it arrived.
Well packed & healthy rose delivered in only a couple of days. 2nd rose purchased from Henry street nursery and very happy with 1st purchase which is blooming away at the mo.
I purchased Just Joey rose in June (this rose I am familiar with as friends and family have purchased over the years). I am beyond disappointed by the poor specimen which looked very unhealthy and diseased, I have uploaded my emails to HSN and their response from Oliver at HSN, however this platform does not allow me to upload photos detailing issues. I have still had no response from HSN after sending a 3rd email asking for a refund and for them to arrange recollection of this awful looking rose.
Initial email to Henry Street Nurseries..
Hi
I took delivery of the above Just Joey tea rose from your website and am waiting for the buds to bloom. The buds to me look like they are suffering from disease. I will upload pictures for your information.
Just Joey is a popular rose within our family and sadly mine looks quite unwell.
Please can you take a look and get back in touch to discuss this issue.
Thank you
Henry Street Nurseries reply…
Good afternoon,
Thank you for the pictures, I think giving the flowers time to properly open will be best in this case, some flowers have been affected by balling due to the rain and high humidity we had a couple of weeks ago followed by extremely hot weather.
It’s something that the roses will grow out of but by the looks of these flowers there is just a small area of potential damage to the flowers.

My reply to HSN…
Hi Oliver
Thanks for getting back to me. The Just Joey rose was purchased as a special gift and I could not possibly present it in the state it is in and expect the recipient to ‘just give it some time, may get better’. The recipient is sure to ask where it was purchased from, leaving me no choice but to advertise Henry Street Nurseries (rose growers for over 100 years) This is definitely not a prime specimen. I am very familiar with Just Joey rose and I have never seen such a poor specimen showing definite signs of disease.
Therefore I am requesting a full refund of monies to my account and also if you could arrange for a courier to collect your rose and return it back to yourself that would be appreciated.
Kind regards
My 3rd email to which I am still awaiting a response…
